Lucie Reeves-Smith Art Consultant
Lucie hired me to create a new logo and business card for her new consultancy. Although Lucie had worked in the art world for many years, she was branching out with her own business, so she wanted something to help identify her brand clearly, and distinguish herself from previous roles in the industry.
I used the colours from Lucie’s favourite art works as inspiration for the first moodboard I created for her. She wanted something colourful and unique. We ended up going with a gorgeous pairing of burgundy and pale yellow. The colours work for her brand because they are strong and distinguished, conveying her expertise. My favourite part of the design is the monogram/stamp I created for Lucie. It was inspired by the lines in one of her fave paintings, and while it includes her initials, it also resembles an abstract painting. I had such fun with this project. I’d love to work with more people in the art world.
Pen’s attention and understanding of my business was exceptional and I’m very pleased with the results of the Starter Design Package – thank you, Pen!
SABII
SABII are a research group specialising in social and behavioural research. They generate insights into immunisation-related behaviour and attitudes and wanted a logo that expressed the interconnection between ideas, disciplines and regions, and also symbolised the gaining of new knowledge (connecting the dots). The result is a simple but powerful abstract symbol that makes their research memorable and engaging.
“Pen helped us create our research group’s logo. She brought the conceptual foundation of our work into the design in a clever and thoughtful way. We’re thrilled with the outcome and proud of our logo.”

Golden Star Cleaning
Golden Star is a Newcastle company started by Afghan refugees and supported by the Hunter Adults Financial Collective.
They wanted a gold star to represent their business, so I designed a shooting start to give the logo energy and dynamism. The swooshes also symbolise cleaning streaks to emphasise the idea of squeaky clean. There are also sparkles in the design to denote ‘sparkling clean’ and they also hint at the southern cross constellation.
“Highly recommend Penline Design – we’re thrilled with the logo she created for a business our NFP has recently launched. Pen is a great communicator & nailed the design! Very happy!”
(Emma Warren, Hunter Adults Financial Collaborative)
The Lily Pad
The Lily Pad needed a brand new logo and packaging for their period products. The water-colour inspired lily pads create a feminine and strong image, contrasted with the black packaging. The unique colour palette makes this design stand out from the competitors.
Java Love
Logo and packaging design for coffee roasters, Java Love. The brief asked for a modern palette that would appeal to young coffee drinkers and stand out from the crowd on supermarket shelves. I designed the logo and the pattern as well as the packaging, for three coffee blends.
Modern Vintage
Illustration and icon design to depict five categories of furniture for a mid-century furniture retailer. I also designed a logo and website landing page.
ASRA Campaign
Logo design and advertising campaign for refugee advocacy group, ASRA: Asylum Seekers and Refugees Australia. The blue of the logo symbolises protection, harmony and unity across cultures, while the orange on black references the international refugee flag. The campaign urges Australians to empathise with people who have fled persecution and who are locked in immigration detention, sometimes for years on end.
San Pellegrino
Photography and billboard design and magazine advertisement for San Pellegrino sparkling water. The design includes fireworks for excitement and sparkle and the layout showcases the range of flavours.
